We are also dedicated to giving our members as much exposure as we can, as such, we will not consider anything done by a member as "solicitation" for hits, so long as they are a member. We are a group dedicated to sequential art in all of its forms, it is our goal to share our ORIGINAL art with one another and promote growth within our group. SINGLE PANEL "COMICS" ARE NOT TO BE APPROVED. This can be anything from the classic comic strip to a collage of photos with no particular narration. So long as there is art IN SEQUENCE we shall take it and define it as a comic. Members of our group are encouraged to share anything that makes the above definition. As an artist creating sequential art since the 1980's, her clients have included: DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and Dark Horse Comics (among many more). She created the Scary Godmother series that was later adapted into two television specials that aired on Cartoon Network. Jill's comics work has won ten Eisner Awards and been nominated for many more. This class does require that students have a familiarity with drawing and illustration- if you are a complete beginner we recommend you work with our figure drawing class and beginning illustration first.Īfter taking this class students will also receive the option of a free profile on the Alumni Portfolios page. Towards the end of the semester a special industry guest will review student work. With discussions and demonstrations of methods students may delve into their own creator-based concepts. Jill will also address the questions around how to best adapt an idea into sequential art. Students will be provided with scripts and ideas to get rolling on their first series of sequential pages. She will work with each student's goals and interests for doing sequential art. Jill will bring her extensive industry knowledge and award-winning perspective to her students through various individually tailored assignments that meet each student where the are. This art form requires skillsets that differ from other kinds of illustration such as book covers and gaming illustration.
